Season-long player props are beginning to surface across sportsbooks. In an attempt to seek out values, Brad Evans will occasionally make the case on an attractive future — whether betting the OVER or UNDER — as the outside temps rise.
Today’s topic: Detroit's downfield dynamo.
The pick — Jameson Williams to total 1,000 or more receiving yards (+175, DraftKings)
Over the course of each and every salary cap and auction fantasy draft, a showdown inevitably occurs.
It’s an event so room-rattling, so jarring, that uninvolved league mates boisterously encourage the epic bidding war to continue until bankrolls bust. They shout the following:
“Go another dollar!”
“Don’t give in!”
“Slap the wallet, boys!”
When the auctioneer finally shouts “SOLD!” a collective “WOW!” is voiced. Two bullish drafters unrelentingly bought the hype, and the ensuing spending spree was nothing shy of glorious.
This year, Williams could spark such a moment in exercises from coast to coast.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell, your buddy Paul in Poughkeepsie and so many others are convinced the JaMo breakout is imminent. To the believers, those who invest are bound to pile up the points. They’re not wrong.
Call this scribe a conformist, but the Detroit wide receiver is on the precipice of a numbers leap. And the evidence is clear.
Last season proved a major step forward for Williams. The No. 12 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft amassed a stupendous 112.9 passer rating when targeted and finished No. 19 in route win percentage (48.9%). According to PlayerProfiler, the former Alabama standout also tucked inside the position’s top 15 in target separation (2.04), yards per target (11.0), yards per reception (17.3), explosive rating (117) and total YAC (447).
His final 58-1001-7 season tally in 15 games slotted No. 23 in PPR fantasy points per game. A clear example of efficiency, Williams achieved all of that while attracting only 16.9% of the team’s target share.
For the encore, expect his role to grow. The Detroit coaching staff, a group known to shoot it straight, has said as much this offseason.
New Lions offensive coordinator John Morton has sung Williams’ praises, saying the speedster’s increased “attention to detail” will lead to a “breakout year.” Also, Campbell has gushed about Williams’ improved strength, noting the “sky’s the limit” for the spring standout.
Again, the drumbeat is on par with Phil Collins’ legendary work on the rock classic “In the Air Tonight.” Pay attention.
Possibly most alluring, the Lions have the fifth-easiest projected strength of schedule for fantasy wide receivers.
To recap: Numerical growth in 2024, coaches heaping praise and a cakewalk slate. The case for Williams is undeniably clear.
What also makes him attractive is where he is being selected in recent snake drafts. In half-point PPR BestBall10s conducted over the last month, his ADP is a highly affordable 110.00 (WR26). Hello, profit potential.
Whether via auctions or standard snakes, Williams is worth the extra mile. His separation skills, explosiveness, established chemistry with Jared Goff and mouth-watering schedule suggest the hype is to be believed. A yardage campaign well north of 1,000 is very possible.
