Vegas and Colorado have not only eclipsed the proposed total in each of their previous two games, but they’ve also cleared it with ease. The Golden Knights have won their last two games with regulation totals of eight goals each, while the Avalanche have seen totals of 11 and 10 goals in their last two contests.
While defense has been the teams’ calling card in previous years, that has not been the case this season as both clubs rank in the top 12 in goals against average. They also rank in the top seven in scoring with Vegas second (86 goals) and Colorado tied for seventh (75).
Tons of offense and no defense spell a ton of scoring. Heck, the Avs may eclipse this total by themselves after the 8-2 embarrassment they suffered Monday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
