Each week, the Noise highlights under-started names who he believes are destined to torch the competition. To qualify, each player must have started in fewer than 60 percent of Yahoo leagues. Speaking as an accountability advocate, I will post results, whether genius or moronic, the following week. Scoring thresholds (0.5 PPR) – QB: 18 fantasy points; RB: 12 fantasy points (10 for shockers); WR: 11 fantasy points; TE: 10 fantasy points.

Similar to enduring a college economics course where the professor randomly drags on for hours about supply-and-demand trends tied to finances in Liechtenstein, the Chargers don’t elicit much excitement on offense. However, Jim Harbaugh’s crew is quietly and steadily winning games — whether in spectacular or snoozy fashion.

Herbert is unquestionably a top-10 quarterback based on pure baseline talents. Operating in Greg Roman’s largely conservative scheme, though, the former Oregon star rarely churns out starter-level numbers even in 14-team leagues. Still, he is slowly getting the attention of fantasy managers.

Herbert sports an almost impeccable touchdown/interception ratio of 11-1, and he is running more often with an average of 27.7 rushing yards over his last three games. He’s also topped 20 fantasy points in three straight weeks.

Against visiting Cincinnati, Herbert could satisfy sweet tooths with sugary numbers.

The Bengals check in at No. 26 in pass EPA defense, allowing 230.0 passing yards per game, 1.7 passing touchdowns per game and the fifth-most fantasy points to QBs. Using Yahoo default scoring, four gunslingers have dropped 30 points against them.

Given Herbert’s terrific downfield accuracy (No. 3 in deep-ball completion percentage), recent rushing efforts and premium matchup, he’s a likely multi-TD performer who should land in the range of 19-22 fantasy points.

For once — thanks to Herbert’s explosive pass plays — the low-voltage Chargers smoke ammeters on Sunday night.

Fearless Forecast: 246 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 28 rushing yards, 23.1 fantasy points

vs. Jaguars

In Sunday night’s thriller in Houston, Goff handed out INTs (five picks in total) as though he were Nathan Peterman. You never want to go full Peterman. Still, through timely turnovers of their own and the kicking heroics of Jake Bates, the Lions pulled off a stunning, come-from-behind 26-23 victory. Fanatics who trusted the QB in a bye-heavy week are likely in a “never again” state, but bury the recent past and reconsider his services. Despite his Gawful relapse, the Lions QB ranks top-five in eight different completion percentage categories, including deep ball, red zone and overall adjusted. Blessed with the mother of all matchups in Week 11 against Jacksonville, he should immediately regain eroded trust. The Jaguars continue to rank bottom barrel (No. 32) in pass EPA D, yielding 7.97 passing yards per attempt, 271.9 passing yards per game, 1.9 passing TDs per game and the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. With Jameson Williams returning, Sam LaPorta ascending and Amon-Ra St. Brown dirty-working in the short-to-intermediate field, Goff should achieve flame status for the fourth time this season.

Fearless Forecast: 242 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 24.2 fantasy points

Season record: 11-8
