The pick — Wild 60-minute ML (-105, BetMGM)

Last week was rough after getting hooked by a pair of team totals. It’s time to get back on the winning wagon, and there’s no better way to do that than by backing a wagon.

The Minnesota Wild are just that.

The Wild didn’t trail in a game until 16 days into the new season. Winners of three in a row and seven of their last eight games, they’ll cap a perfect four-game home stand Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings.

Minnesota has been elite on the defensive end of the ice. It ranks third in goals allowed per game, and it will have the rest advantage against the Kings, who will be playing their third game in four nights and will be traveling from Nashville after beating the Predators 3-0 on Monday.

Los Angeles has an even goal differential on the season, but its goal differential above expected is -4.32, which ranks in the bottom third of the NHL. The Wild are fifth at 8.65.

Give me the team that is playing better than the box scores indicate and will have more rest while playing at home. And give me Minnesota to do it in 60 minutes.
