Each week, the Noise highlights under-started names who he believes are destined to torch the competition. To qualify, each player must have started in fewer than 60 percent of Yahoo leagues. Speaking as an accountability advocate, I will post results, whether genius or moronic, the following week. Scoring thresholds (0.5 PPR) – QB: 18 fantasy points; RB: 12 fantasy points (10 for shockers); WR: 11 fantasy points; TE: 10 fantasy points.
Devin Singletary, Giants

| Matchup | vs. Cowboys |
| BetMGM line | Cowboys -4.5 |
| BetMGM total | 44 |
| BetAlytics projection | 56.6 rsh yds, 16.1 rec yds, 0.50 TDs |
Rubbish. A heaping pile of elephant dung baking on the African savanna in 100 degree heat.
That nostril-corrupting image is just how repulsive the Dallas defense has performed.
Mike McCarthy’s unit is the definition of doo-doo. Through three weeks, the prepubescent ‘Boys rank No. 28 in EPA per play defense. Most shockingly, they’re bottom of the barrel at No. 32 in rush EPA D, allowing 5.44 yards per carry, 182.0 total yards per game, seven total TDs and the most fantasy points to RBs. Stinky.
However, one man’s garbage is another man’s glory. Given the putrid opponent, Singletary could come away smelling like a rose Thursday night.
On the much lampooned Giants, Malik Nabers — deservedly so — has earned all the applause. He’s the Offensive Rookie of the Year front-runner for a reason (+250, BetMGM).
Still, place some respect on Singletary’s name. He’s currently RB16 in 0.5 PPR formats, and his advanced data profile has been laudable. Also, he’s RB6 in yards after contact per attempt (3.93) and No. 2 in total missed tackles forced (17). On an otherwise lousy team, he’s been sensational.
It may seem starting a Giant not named Nabers is like a spam texter hitting you up for personal information, but the matchup and the overlooked RB’s per touch efficiency are too delicious to ignore.
Sip a top-shelf anejo on a #TequilaThursday and deploy Singletary.
Fearless Forecast: 15 carries, 72 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 3 receptions, 14 receiving yards, 16.1 fantasy points
Week 4 Bonus Flames
Bucky Irving, Buccaneers
| Start pct. | 8% on Yahoo |
| Matchup | vs. Eagles |
The seemingly inevitable backfield changing of the guard in Tampa is happening. On Monday, head coach Todd Bowles announced the rookie had earned more touches moving forward. Anyone with functional vision could see Irving has more juice and break-tackle ability than incumbent Rachaad White. Analytics only confirm the eye test, as Irving has bested White in yards after contact and missed tackles forced by a considerable margin. In YAC per attempt alone, Irving is 37 spots higher than White among RBs with at least 20% of team carries. Against a Philadelphia unit that’s No. 23 in rush EPA D, he’s a viable RB2 candidate in challenging leagues. The Eagles have yielded 5.23 yards per carry and 155.0 total yards per game to rushers. Bank on Bucky in the FLEX.
Fearless Forecast: 11 carries, 63 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 3 receptions, 12 receiving yards, 12.3 fantasy points
Chuba Hubbard, Panthers
| Start pct. | 23% on Yahoo |
| Matchup | vs. Bengals |
The NFL really stands for No Friggin’ Logic. The level of utter shock already witnessed in September has jarred fantasy and casual fans alike. Just look at the complete annihilation issued by Andy Dalton, Hubbard and the Panthers on the Raiders in Week 3. Put the house on the market, Bryce Young. Hubbard popped off against an overly forgiving Las Vegas front. Benefitting from lighter boxes thanks to Dalton, the Oklahoma State product chewed up 169 combined yards on 29 touches and scored on a 6-yard TD grab. His resulting 3.90 YAC per attempt was equally spectacular. Expected to blast a Bengals D-line that’s No. 31 in rush EPA, Hubbard is worth an off-the-bench promotion. In its three winless games, Cincinnati has given up 4.21 yards per carry, 125.4 total yards per game, three TDs and the 14th-most fantasy points to RBs. Before Jonathan Brooks returns, hitch a ride on Hubbard.
Fearless Forecast: 16 carries, 68 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 4 receptions, 22 receiving yards, 17.0 fantasy points
Season record: 4-5
