The hoopla, hysteria and general hype around the NFL Draft is unrivaled. Thursday’s first round will be filled with the usual pomp and circumstance with stylish suits, neck-draped flashy bling, main-stage struts, Roger Goodell bro hugs and lifelong dreams realized. However, selfish gamers only care about one thing — Where does the rookie rank in the fantasy pecking order? Here’s instant analysis of Nix in the Broncos offense.
No. 12 overall pick — Bo Nix, QB, Denver Broncos
Denver desperately needed to find its potential franchise quarterback. Nix certainly has the skill set to be that guy.
The former Oregon Duck has terrific pocket feel, arm strength and quick-step rushing ability. His footwork has raised questions in the scouting community, but under the tutelage of Sean Payton, he could flourish on Day 1 with the Broncos.
Most notably, Nix was No. 1 among all college slingers in adjusted completion percentage last season. That sharpness should mesh beautifully with Courtland Sutton and Denver’s additional weapons.
Throw in his rushing upside of 350-500 yards, and he’s worth going the extra mile to acquire in SuperFlex leagues.
