MNF Primetime Props: Gadgety Worthy worth a bet

Primetime NFL games bring in the numbers -- and the bets. In an attempt to boost gamer bankrolls, this only occasionally profitable bettor will attempt to stack greenbacks under the lights. As always, fade or follow -- that’s up to you.

The Pick: Xavier Worhty OVER 2.5 rushing yards at Jaguars (-110, BetMGM)

You better shop around. Shop. Shop. Shop.

Occasionally at various sportsbooks wild line discrepancies shock and awe money skeers. At one store front sits a seemingly attractive offer. However, at another, the low number presented becomes irresistible.

That feeling was fully realized when pursuing various Worthy rushing markets among betting brands early Saturday. At ESPN Bet, the proposed threshold above was 6.5 at a standard -115 juice on the over or under. Meanwhile, when gazing at BetMGM’s odds, a full four-yard discount was stumbled upon.

X indeed marked the spot.

Worthy has more gadgets than Batman’s belt. Returning to action in full last week despite a dinged wing, he was deployed in his usual multipurpose manner. Against the slumping Ravens, he played 60.6% of the snaps, recording seven touches for 121 combined yards (38 rushing).

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is a creative and wise walrus on play calls. Whether on direct handoffs, backwards passes or jet sweeps, the mustachioed mastermind often features Worthy on the ground roughly 2-3 times per game. Stretching back to last season and including the playoffs, the speedy wideout has received at least one rush attempt in his last 16 games. Over that span, he registered at least four rush yards a dozen times.

Not a single WR has attempted a rush against Jacksonville's stingy front so far this year. Entering their Monday Night matchup, the Jags rank No. 11 in rush EPA defense, allowing just 3.49 yards per carry.

Yes, the matchup isn't the sexiest, but Worthy will get a shot or two to eclipse the low number required.

All we need is one -- just one -- ground grip to cash.
