Coming off a perfect week, I need to keep the good vibes rolling by focusing on an Eastern Conference clash.
Both teams enter the matchup having experienced some up-and-down play over the past week. Toronto won 4-2 in the first meeting, which was also in New Jersey, but I can’t bring myself to bet on the Maple Leafs — ever.
The under feels like the play in this one. The aforementioned previous game was under this total. Also, Toronto has gone under in three of its last four games, while the Devils have gone under in three straight.
Despite New Jersey being fourth in the NHL in goals scored and first in xGoals at 57.19%, it should be quelled by the Leafs, who have allowed the fourth-fewest goals in the NHL and are sixth in expected goals against.
Even the good folks at BetAlytics have deemed this wager as their best value play on Tuesday’s board, projecting 5.6 goals which is well below the 6.5 number.
I would lean toward the Devils to win at -135 if i had to pick a winner, but the under feels like the play. If you want to parlay those two bets, you’re looking at a cool +210 on a Tuesday evening.
