The Panthers and Jets just squared off on Saturday in South Florida, where the Cats put a whoopin’ on Winnipeg in a 5-0 win. It was the Jets’ second-straight loss after starting the season 15-1. Despite being outscored 9-1 in its two games in the Sunshine State, Winnipeg still leads the NHL in goal differential at +31.
The Jets will be back at home Tuesday for the rematch against Florida. I expect them to exact some revenge, especially with a six-game roadtrip to follow.
Looking at how Winnipeg’s schedule has played out so far, it has had eight wins, one loss, seven victories and then two defeats. It feels like a trend is brewing where the Jets rattle off six wins in a row.
Winnipeg is a really good hockey team, and I don’t expect it to be dominated again. The Jets have too much pride for that.
