Thanks to the influx of extraordinary young talent, the popularity of the WNBA is blowing up. Unsurprisingly, the betting markets are too. Showing respect to the wonderful women’s game, this gambler will occasionally dip his toe in the WNBA wagering waters.

The pick — SGP: Angel Reese 10+ rebounds, Angel Reese 12+ points, Sky and Storm 73+ points each (+130, BetMGM)

All the necessary ingredients are in place.

Dew-point readings sit at an unbearable 75 degrees Fahrenheit. A strong southerly wind, pulling from a vigorous mid-latitude cyclone, ushers in heavy moisture and oppressive surface temperatures. Meanwhile, an attached cold front, backed by a much cooler and drier Canadian air mass, moves across the continent. Soon dark clouds will build and build and …

No, this isn’t some outlandish plot setup from “Twisters.” It is what’s bound to occur in a WNBA matchup perfectly crafted for weather and betting geeks alike.

For this avid gambler who happens to possess a Master’s in Geoscience with an emphasis in Meteorology, Sky vs. Storm Part II has all the goods.

Shelter in place and consume.

Here’s a rundown of parlay legs in Sunday’s rematch.

Angel Reese 10+ rebounds. We tried to tell you. The Rookie of the Year value on Reese has nearly left the building. Only two weeks ago, it was +1200 (Caesars). After her double-double explosion (27 points, 10 rebounds) against Seattle on Friday, that number has dipped all the way to +220 (BetMGM). Another stellar performance in the second go-round against the Storm, and she will creep even closer to Caitlin Clark. Reese has snagged 10 or more rebounds in 13 straight games. Having tied Candace Parker’s WNBA record of 12 consecutive double-doubles, the Sky forward will not be deterred to set a new mark — especially against a Seattle team that’s given up the fourth-most opponent rebounds per game in its last 10 contests (34.5).

Angel Reese 12+ points. Again, with her pursuit of breaking Parker’s record, another divine double-double is in the forecast. Having scored a dozen or more points in five of her last six games, Reese is shooting 47.5% from the floor over that stretch. Even more eye-opening is that she spotted up twice from three on Friday and drilled both attempts. Her expanding range only spikes the chances of achieving 12-plus points. The Storm’s uptempo pace does, too. And with Clark making history Saturday by becoming the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double, you know Reese will be extra motivated to perform.

Both teams to score 73+ points. A high-possession showdown is in order. Both Chicago and Seattle rank top-six in pace per 40 possessions over their last 10 games. And it’s no surprise both have also surrendered 80 or more points per game (Sky: 83.1; Storm: 80.0). Peeling back the layers, Seattle has surpassed 73 points in eight of its last nine contests, while Chicago has scored at least 73 points in 11 of its last 12. Teresa Weatherspoon’s Sky won 88-84 Friday. With the game total sitting at 164.5, it’s likely Sunday’s rematch is a near replication.

WNBA season record: 13-10, +6.08 units
