The NBA playoffs are always wild, wacky and filled with knife-cuttable drama. With players putting everything on the line in an attempt to bask in championship glory, the pressure-packed games are tremendously fun to wager on. As a result, the sportsbooks offer many creative ways to enhance the action. What is Brad’s favorite prop play in Pacers vs. Bucks on Tuesday? Check out his juicy SGP below.
The pick — Andrew Nembhard OVER 10.5 points at Bucks (-120, FanDuel)
FanDuel offers:
Every NBA postseason, a random contributor elevates his game and becomes a local cult hero. Yes, the Matthew Dellavedovas of the world.
Right now in the Circle City, Nembhard is that dude.
The Gonzaga product had his moments during the regular season, but he wasn’t exactly selling out jerseys like Caitlin Clark while averaging a pedestrian 9.2 points in his second NBA season. However, Nembhard’s stock — and possibly associated merchandise sales — are on the rise.
In Indiana’s first-round series against the ailing Bucks, the fiery guard is burning the nets, shooting 61.1% from the field. With increased playing time (34.8 minutes per game compared to 25.0 in the regular season), he’s coasted past 10.5 points in three straight games, totaling 20, 16 and 15 points.
With Milwaukee possibly again without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, Nembhard’s scoring is an appealing wager. In the playoffs, the Bucks have allowed the second-most points per game (116.5), the second-most threes made per game (14.8) and the second-most points per possession (1.210). Essentially, they’re the Washington Generals of defense. (Surely, Frederick “Curly” Neal is nodding his head in approval from a cloud above.)
Whether attacking the rim off the bounce or organizing the puppies from outside, Nembhard torches the twine and tops 11 or more points in his fourth consecutive game.
NBA postseason record: 5-11, -5.55 units (We’re on a seven-pick L streak. We're terrible.)
BONUS TIME — Jalen Brunson OVER 12.5 assists/rebounds vs. 76ers (-102, FanDuel)
