GAME OF THE NIGHT

  • Detroit Red Wings at Pittsburgh Penguins, 7 p.m. ET

Penguins 3-way ML (+110, BetMGM)

Brandon Velaski — Let’s try this again. There’s a four-team battle for the Eastern Conference’s final wild card. Detroit’s 2-1 loss to Washington on Tuesday vaulted the Capitals into the spot. Pittsburgh had its four-game win streak halted by Toronto on Monday, but I still like the Penguins at home. And they need to win this game in regulation to prevent the Red Wings from walking away with a point.

Dylan Larkin over 3.5 shots on goal (+100, BetMGM)

Lou Saccomando — It’s the biggest game of the night between two teams that have had major ups and downs throughout the season. The Penguins are the “hotter” club, having won six of their last eight games, but neither team wants to run away and hide. After choosing Patrick Kane for my SOG prop on Tuesday, I’m turning to Detroit’s best player to get the job done on Thursday. Larkin has hit this over five times in his last seven games, and in his only game against Pittsburgh this season, he recorded four shots. Look for Larkin to use his speed to create chances and maybe even score on the power play.

MORE PICKS

  • New Jersey Devils at Toronto Maple Leafs, 7 p.m. ET

William Nylander over 3.5 shots on goal vs. Devils (-105, BetMGM)

Brandon Velaski — Remember when Nylander started the season on a 17-game point streak? Feels like eons ago. He hasn’t hit this over in five of his last six games, and he managed just two shots in Toronto’s last game on Tuesday against, you guessed it, New Jersey. However, the Maple Leafs center had five shots on target in the teams’ March 26 matchup in Toronto, where Thursday’s game will be played. Billy breaks out again.

SGP: Maple Leafs ML vs. Devils and Auston Matthew anytime goal (+140, BetMGM)

Lou Saccomando — Matthews is putting together one of the more memorable seasons in a long time, needing only four goals to reach 70. He has scored in each of the last two meetings against the Devils, who will be without Jack Hughes for the rest of the season. The Maple Leafs have won six of their last seven games, and Matthews has scored in six straight games. Look for him to be aggressive early.
