The last week has been a rollercoaster for my hockey picks, but thankfully, a solid slate on Tuesday gave me a 4-2 record to go up 3.12 units. Let’s see what the four games on Wednesday’s NHL schedule can provide.

Los Angeles at St. Louis, 7:30 p.m. ET
The pick: Drew Doughty 1+ assist (+124, DK)
TNT’s early game has me focused squarely on a player prop. Although I like the Kings to pick up the road win, it’s Drew Doughty that I want to cash a ticket on. The veteran defenseman has 41 points this season, including 27 assists.
A deeper dive shows that 11 of those 27 apples have come since Feb. 17, and he has tallied one assist in four of five games in March. If you want to play it safe and simply play Doughty for a point (-115, DK), you can. But I’m going to chase the plus odds that he does it again against a Blues squad allowing 3.06 goals per game.
Colorado at Vancouver, 10:30 p.m. ET
The pick: Over 6.5 (-115, DK)
Colorado is on the second night of a back-to-back after handling Calgary on Tuesday night. Trailing 2-1, the Avalanche scored five times in the second period and won 6-2. Now they head to one of my favorite cities to face the West-leading Canucks.
This play is all about fading the starting goaltenders. Colorado’s Alexandar Georgiev and Vancouver’s Casey DeSmith have had their moments this season, but their identical 2.85 GAAs lead me to believe the lamp will be flashing plenty of times at Rogers Arena. Plus, the teams’ goal differentials add up to +104.
BONUS BET: No goal in first 10 in Nashville vs. Winnipeg (-105, DK)
