There are freaks. Then there’s San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama. He’s presumably not into sparsely adorned leather and other general kinkiness like some of the nasty variety. No, the 20-year-old rookie is cut from a very different cloth.
As evidenced by the historically rare triple-double of 27 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks against the Toronto Raptors, Wembanyama’s current state of play and long-term potential raise the arousal to an eyes-in-the-back-of-the-head level. Cue David Robinson’s sexy slow sax in the background.
Wemby was elite on both ends and dropped a TRIPLE-DOUBLE in the Spurs' win against the Raptors 🌟

It’s downright naughty to imagine what Wemby is capable of at his peak. In the betting market, the lanky youngster is also an unparalleled anomaly. When tailed in myriad categories, he routinely serves up SGP constructors with boosted bank.
Here’s how you can win with Wemby.
Blocks: The 10 swats Wembanyama recorded against the Raptors was a rarity, but no matter the matchup, tailing him for 2-plus in the category is advisable. Over 48 games, he leads the NBA with 153 rejections, averaging 3.2 per game. In a mind-blowing 77.1 percent of his contests this year (37 of 48 games), he’s outright denied shooters at least twice. Chasing leather slaps is practically automatic.
Steals: Wemby moves and crouches down like a guard. Given his condor-like wingspan, he often pokes and pries with ridiculous success. Weaving in 1+ steals via the alt market is always recommended. On the season, he’s averaging 1.1 thefts per game. Overall, he has logged a steal in 70.8 percent of his contests.
Three-pointers: The man is 7-foot-4. Shot elevation or not, few, if any, would-be NBA defenders can challenge his jump shots effectively. What’s unfair is his touch from outside. Though displaying a smooth and comfortable stroke, Wembanyama has netted only 31.9 percent from beyond the arc, but he’s improving rapidly. In February, he has splashed 46.2 percent from distance, averaging 2.0 makes per game. As a result, including 1+ threes in your SGP build is a sound approach, especially against an opponent that is typically lazy stretching out to the perimeter.
Of course, you can also sink coin into other categories like rebounds and points. Feel free to be creative. However, when backing the inevitable Rookie of the Year in alternative markets outlined above, the long-term hit rate is rather promising. Heck, he’s reached all three in four of his past seven games. Most attractively, stringing together Wemby on 2+ blocks, 1+ steal and 1+ threes in a SGP cashes out at plus money.
True story: Just tailing him on 2+ blocks and 1+ steal against the Raptors paid this dunderhead +115 at BetMGM. Hit both thresholds at roughly the 29-minute mark. Not so schweaty.
Naturally, NOTHING is foolproof in this betting game, but committed investors should count their dolla dolla bills on the Spurs phenom when the curtain drops on this NBA season.
In the player props SGP market, Wemby is an undeniable betting whale.
*With the NBA back in action after the break, here's how I'm playing the Wemby-packed SGP against the Kings -- Sacramento ML, Wemby 2+ threes, Wemby 20+ points, Wemby 1+ steal (+210, MGM). Wait, no blocks? There are three reasons why I avoided. 1) Sacramento has allowed the eighth-fewest blocks per game of their last 15 contests, 2) He record zero swats in the first matchup back in November and 3) MGM only had 2-plus blocks as an option in the SGP software. Like the Spurs specimen, that could be a stretch.
